An exciting opportunity for a Marketing Manager/Director (m/f) has arisen within Airbus Commercial Aircraft in Blagnac. 

You will join Airbus Services, in the Upgrades Marketing department (SLMCU), and will actively support the product development and sales campaigns activities in order to support Airbus ambition to develop services.

You will be supporting the Upgrade Services business line (SLU), one of the pillars of Airbus Services, offering optional aircraft modifications to Airbus customers and operators worldwide. The retrofit market is a high growth and highly competitive market, strategic for Airbus Services. 

For this position, we are looking for a candidate with specific emphasis on aircraft systems. Aircraft systems are a significant contributor to the business plan.

Tasks and Accountabilities

Market Analysis:

  • Consolidating knowledge of market trends and customer needs
  • Analysis of competition and industry benchmarks to allow definition of the service market segment,
  • Define the marketing plan and associated roadmap
  • Product market pricing recommendations
  • Input to the Global Services Forecast worldwide for Upgrades and related businesses

Business Development:

  • Accountable for Upgrades service/product business development from concept to launch, which includes new upgrades services/products positioning, market analysis and the customer business case
  • In liaison with Upgrade Programs, define new service/product Upgrade roadmap
  • Propose the appropriate airline business case
  • Coordinate Upgrade service/product portfolio consistency across Upgrade programs
  • Challenge the Upgrade Services portfolio regularly in support of the product strategy and roadmap
  • Propose strategic partnerships and innovative business models to fight the status quo
  • Lead / support all partnerships related to Upgrade Services business development

    Operational Marketing and sales support:

  • Develop top quality marketing material for the sales teams and ensure appropriate training
  • Proactively support strategic campaigns (marketing plan definition with recommended approach and timeline)
  • Control the promotion of products and develop an improvement plan where possible
  • Participate in Sales business reviews and Deal Committees
  • Visit the customer with Sales where appropriate on strategic campaigns
  • Develop the communication plan and events for Upgrade Services
  • Prepare for and participate in Upgrade specific events and shows

This role will involve some travel for business worldwide and as such you must be able to travel accordingly. Personal and interpersonal skills required:

  • Excellent time management, multi-tasking, and organizational skills as well as the ability to work under the pressure of deadlines in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Ability to quickly adapt to a fast growing organization
  • Good interpersonal skills for both internal and external relationships.
  • Think and resolve problems independently, quickly, and efficiently

    Professional skills / competences:

  • Business Development, Marketing, Finance, Project Management, Engineering, Airlines operations, Suppliers business model
  • English: negotiation level
  • Strategic creative thinking
  • Aircraft systems knowledge, including basic cockpit systems architecture
  • Airline operational knowledge for assessment of solutions and customer benefits
  • Aircraft performance knowledge would be a plus
  • Ability to build up strong argumentation
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to present solutions in a convincing manner to the customer at all levels including top management
  • Market analysis and business case appreciation. Understanding of financial impact of decisions
  • Strong analytical skills and proficient with XLS and PPT
